Well, it looks like Mr Charlie here needs himself a good forever home! He's 7.5 weeks old now, and he first met the world at Ideal Poultry.
He's a very sweet boy and I believe would make a great addition to anyone's flock. He isn't 'by the book' perfect, I'll admit, but he's perfect in his quirky personality to be sure. He isn't overly aggressive, and not quite crowing- well, not yet and not great anyway! Ha. I'll include his video again.
If you have any other ?s please feel free to hit me up.

Me and Charlie would be willing to drive 2-3 hours for the right person, and we live at the VA/TN border. Otherwise Charlie can be free to a healthy and loving home! I know it's asking a lot but I would rather keep him than send him someplace I'll never see a single pic or hear a peep on how he does. Nothing much, just a word each spring or something, I wouldn't bother anyone. So- here's Charlie!

This is a bird where I was wrong when I sexed it. This picture is at 17 weeks of age. When she was three months old her comb was as it is in the picture. Most pullets do not have comb and wattle development until they are close to egg laying age. As such I believed her to be a he; cockerel. Now at 17 weeks she shows no hackle or saddle feathering of a rooster-a pullet. She is a golden neck d'Uccle.

Thanksgiving Day, we spent at her Mom's and didn't get home until after dark. Driving in we saw the royal palm tom roosting on the tip top of the garage. How do you get a turkey off the roof? Simple, just tell it to come down. And that's what Kimmi did, and RPy came down. If I hadn't been there I would not have believed it. The Peas were wandering around in the dark and I've not the slightest idea why. The ducks had chose to sleep in the wood lot. It was not fun looking in the dark for a bunch of birds that apparently went wild while I was away.

The next day I found my Porcelain d'Uccle cockerel looking near death. Happily, he is looking much better today; crop half full and putting on weight.

It seems that every time I go to the In-Laws there's a mess when I get home. The price for leaving home I guess.

I'd have a tough time letting any of them go too. It's hard to let puppies go to a new home.

They're all just so sweet.

How many puppies in the house now?
8 Kimmi wants to keep three. As the person who does most of the care and training I'm asking to PPPPLLLLLLEEEEEAAAAAASSSSSSEEEEEEEEEE just one. An easy matter to train one puppy, but three all the same age; that's harder-way harder.

It was a long labor/time before the puppies started to be born; the first came at 7:05 this morning and it took several hours for the last to be born. Kimmi had to help with a couple that were a bit too large.
I put an ad on craigslist last night at 7 PM for Kimmi about her puppies. There has been twenty-six replies as of now. Kimmi is having problems letting the other three go. Just what we need, three more dogs!

Ah! That's right- I had forgotten you saying you had one golden neck too. Our other roo, the porcelain D'Uccle (TinyRoo,)has a more prominent comb, just like or a little larger than Charlie's. So I'd say it's a good bet on yours being female-I sure hope so. Then I'd have three pullets and that would be nice. I knew she looked lighter somehow, but I am not familiar enough with them to recognize it. (But they are beautiful! I've seen a picture or two of the adults.)There's no telling how he/she will turn out. My Porcelains and the Golden are siblings; a cross between Golden Neck and Porcelain d'Uccle. It would seem that porcelain and golden are both dominant colors; or incomplete dominance.
Charlie looks like he's loving life! [emoji1303][emoji1303][emoji3590]

Ps- and thank you everyone. It's been a long week.

Overmountain-sad to read the above.

I think she's going to be beautiful! She should def have a larger comb by now if she was heading that direction, but I think they'll compliment one another beautifully!

She's got more white to her spangles, and Charlie seems to have a little heavier black accenting him- of course they'll change it all up around 20 weeks, but I think they'll make beautiful little babies! She/he is a golden neck d'Uccle.

Thanks for the Charlie pics too! [emoji3059][emoji3059] You are welcome.

I spent the last few hours child-proofing the backyard. Poults are worse than children for getting in trouble. If there is any way to end up over the rainbow they will find it. They are just too curious for their own good and that curiosity often ends in their demise. I always breath a sigh of relief when someone wants to buy them as soon as they hatch.
