No need to cut up the rinds so small...let them scrape off whatever melon they can from a wedge. You'll be surprised how thin the rind becomes, almost paper thin! It's really funny to see it.
Thanks, i discovered they like the mellon part much better than the diced up rind. They just threw the rind all around the ground but gobbled up the mellon part. I don't blame them - don't think i would much like the rind either if i had a choice.
Some one gave my husband a melon the other day, so last night the kids ate it. I gave what was left to the chickens they loved it. However my melons I planted wont be doing anything they ate the plants and the rest of my garden. Dang chickens.
