Have a hen that always lays eggs with very rough shell on the narrow tip. The test of the egg is fine, smooth. But this must be painful for her. None of my other hens have this issue. She gets plenty of oyster shell, a well balanced feed. What could be the problem?

I get 3-5 a week like that. Always have.. It's developmental... I think maybe an excess of calcium/shell and they have to clean it out daily and do it all over again. It's nothing to worry about... My 2 cents.

I'm guessing an issue with the conformation of her Uterus. Likely doesn't hurt as tissue is muscular yet compliant for delivery of egg.
