He doesn't look like a game. I'm not great on breeds but there are signs when a bird is a game bird.

Can you have chickens? If you can, get a couple of hens. Well, I guess you need to get a coop first. He'll move in like he's always been there.

Get those girls. Build a run if you don't have one on the coop. Keep food and water inside and watch for him to go in. When he does lock them down. Make sure their run is covered so they can't fly out.

Sounds like you might not need the run but you will have to keep them up for a couple of days so they know that's home.

Yes, that can be a problem. He looks like an adult. It might not be so bad if you only got two or three girls for him.

Other than the fact you're trying to work on the house and get moved in. They could be a plus. Actually a big plus for when you take a break from working on the house. You can sit and watch them while enjoying a cold drink or your coffee.

Will you let them free range once she's settled? Those digs appear to be small and dark.

Where are you with the house? Has it slowed down because you keep going out to watch the birds?

Oh boy. That's worse than what hubs and I moved into one time. We built our home but we had hot water and a sink. The sink was a laundry tub. No drywall. No floors. If you can get the hot water, a sink and toilet on line, it's a mess to live in but it is doable.

I sure hope you can get there. That's a lot worse than what I dealt with.
