HI, we live west of Edmonton Alberta on a acreage, we have had 23 layers for approx a year and have done meat birds, aka freako cornish cross birds for a few years. Last year we raised a couple of orlopp bronze for our freezer and we liked turkeys, we decided we do not want to do the franko birds(as we call the meat birds) so we are venturing into dual purpose and more turkeys! we currently have 54 turkeys, 9 sweetgrass pullets 10 weeks old, 45 ridley bronze pullets, 8 weeks old, 17 barred rocks 14 weeks old, 10 brahms 10 weeks old, 18 mixed barnyard, to add to our layers, 15 weeks old, 20 jersey giants 8 weeks old and 25 wynadottes 4 weeks old, we have 12 children age 28 to 2, we just finished our 23 year of homeschooling,

Welcome to the forum. I'd bet you've got some fun stories to tell about the kids and critters.

Wow, that's a lot to take care of but with all of those children I bet it pays off. Welcome to the forum! pull up a roost, grab a cup of cracked corn and join the flock!
