Depends on animal and size of cage. I had 30 birds inside a 4x6x6 cage before. They were finches tho.

@NYhillbillies most of the time it's ignorance on the owner's part. They saw coop holds X number of birds and they believe it.

They will argue if they already bought the coop. But if they haven't they understand and get what the birds need to start with.

We only free range birds at the sanctuary, some of the rescues come from terrible conditions. Regarding those tiny coops, I wish they would take them off the market.
