I just did the most awful thing, I'm so sick of myself I'm green. Last night I candled 3 eggs under my buff Chantecler, she's been broody for 2 months and Id finally given her some eggs on Aug 10th. I didn't see anything in ANY of them, so I replaced them with others and set the removed ones aside to crock open later to have a look. after the eggs had sat on the kitchen counter all morning and afternoon I cracked them open, ONE WAS DEVELOPED and was still alive and it was moving. Absolutely so sick I could cry. Why couldn't I see it when I candled?? Ive done this before??

Sorry that happened. But this is why I let nature do its own work. I dont get involved and candle unless I am incubating in the house. Just wait the 21 days and let them momma do her thing.
