I see the humans can't use the bench anymore.

The sheen says healthy bird for sure.

Lol yeah that’s now the midday sunning point and bench whenever they let me on 😂 that’s ricky I actually spent money to buy him for future breeding, thanks for the comment on him looking healthy I try my hardest so that everyone of them are as happy and healthy as can be.

I know you do. They're probably going to end up the most spoiled birds on the continent.

Is that a late day pic or another first light one?

Um sure that was around 10-11am I’d have to check the time stamp on the pic, another nice one here today.

Oh yeah, the second one is outstanding. Lovely country you've found yourself in.

Where do the birds go at night?

Thanks it is a lovely view to wake up to my birds chilling in the sun with the hills in the backdrop,

I’ll get a pic now of the tree most of them like to roost. They like to roost in the big tree 🌲 that’s above the white board on the back fence.

So they're actually roosting in the tree of a neighbor. I'm actually surprised the heavier breeds can get up that high.

The tree is in between the two properties so it’s neither mines nor theirs, it’s the chickens tree now lol yeah me too but they get up and roost no problem

An Evergreen. That's a good tree to take shelter in. Good wind and rain block. Overhead predators have no chance of getting at them.

So you have an alley running between the backyards?

They did pick a good spot. It’s not an alley as suck just a small stech of land that separates the properties you can’t walk along it or nothing it’s all brambles and bushes
Heaven help you if one of them ends up stuck down there.

Wait a minute, where does the Silkie and Frizzle roost?

Iv had a couple down there already they seem to get out no problem whe. I take treats in lol, the silkie stays in the pink house and the frizzle rooster roosts in the same kind of tree at my other space, he’s thier with the two Belgians as they where getting bullied from the lar
I knew the Silkie couldn't get up there. I am surprised the rooster can with his combobulated feathers.

Birds don't think around corners, they are straight lines. If something is in the way of that straight line you normally can't get then to move. It's why I'm surprised you were able to get the birds back up the fence and home.

They seem to do it no problem thiers horizontal spars along the back of the fence so I think they jump on thier then back onto the top of the fence, also iv seen them walk along into my next door neighbour’s garden to jump back up the side to get back to the garden lol thier smart they always find a way, I’m going to candle the 7 eggs under the bluebell later today so will have some news if any are starting to grow inside the egg if they are they’ll be a mixture of either the frizzle or the small porcelain pekin bantam Roos, and the hens are Isa browns, bovan nera, coral nick, speckldey, thiers a leghorn egg in their too I’m sure so if any do get to hatching thier going to be very interesting hybrids
Some of the most stunning birds are those that are a mix. Yes, we can have our breed standards and work towards those but so many times a mutt could beat a bird that meets standard hands down in attractiveness.

Yeah I’m not breeding for standard like you say I’m just letting the flock grow naturally and see what comes out of it I think in a year or two I’ll have some really nice mix birds
Just look at your goofy frizzle, he's not a pure breed of any kind. He's got a look all his own.

And then that crossed over other hybrids should be interesting
I don't even know how easy that frizzle look crosses over. I do know that frizzle to frizzle is bad. I think it kills peeps.

Do you ever have days when it just rains? I'm raining here today. The dogs are bored and just like little kids they're bugging me. The guineas are unhappy and hanging out under my truck. I don't know why they're under my truck, they have a big ol' pen to hang out in and stay dry. But no, they're under my truck complaining about the rain.
