Not sure if our new silkie is a roo or hen. Hasn’t crowed but was seen jumping on a hen today. Seems to stand taller than rest of the flock though our dominant hen beat this new one in the pecking order. Can anyone help?

I can't tell from any of those pics. Look for streamers on the back of the head.

How old? At about six months males seem to have more legs than bird. Males have more defined tale feathers.

    I’m not sur
I’m not sure how old. He doesn’t have super long streamers but there are some feathers that seem to stick out. This chicken also seemed leggier and taller than other ones. The tail feathers also seem longer and more defined. I’ll keep monitoring for the streamers and other signs and will try to get better pictures. Thanks!

You can't depend on the tall factor if the bird is new to the flock. To keep from being bullied by the flock they will try to make themselves look bigger.

But that leggy appearance could be your answer to it being male.
