I know i have 4 cockerals in this batch of
I might have more. 11 chicks were to be pulleys as i paid $4.99 specifically at the feed store for pullets. Ive already returned 1 cockeral and am now pissed i might have 4 or more cockerals. I will definitely want my money back on the cockerals when i return them. One is ok and i didnt ask for my 4.99 back. But 4 more or more? Im definitely asking for my money back.
Whether they are pullets or cockerels, they are pretty!
Last photo pullet they all look like pulleys to me what did you order them as
I paid for all females. There are at least 4 males in the 11
I'd be raising heck with them. Who did you get them from?
I told the feed store once they mature enough im bringing them back to get my money back. I want to be 100% sure the ones i see as cockerals are cockerals. Im looking at them all now and i see 5 maybe 6 males
Can you specifically see a difference that would separate the boys from the girls?saddles forming?
I absolutely envy that green grass.
The 5 have longer tails and red pea combs. The girls that i can see have squarer tails and pink pea combs. Im still waiting a few more weeks to let them grow more.
Thank you! The grass has been cut twice , dam.rain is making it grow too fast.
A few have small saddle feathers
The one looks like a chicken I have.If you lived closer I'd buy a roo.I'd be mad too, especially if I paid for pullets and received a bunch of cockerals.I think you're smart to wait until your sure but I thought I spotted roos, too. Those pointy tails give them away.
CQ i dont sell the roosters i give them away. I counted 5 with long tails with a possible 6th... now that they are outside in the growout pen they are growing fast (plus some of the long tail ones run to me in a not so friendly way so i know those are cockerals).. im going to wait a few more weeks then return them. Ive been keeping the feed store aware so that it isnt a surprise
I spoke to the owner today, im bringing all the cockerals back in 2 weeks for my choice of store credit or actual pullets that he has out in their grow out coop yard
I'm glad that they are doing right by you, that's awesome. I wish our's did that. You buy what you buy and if you aren't happy, tough.
Ive been buying from them for 5 years, they are a mom n pop store and i prefer to support local.
Male pea combs usually will have 3 rows of peas, hens will usually have 1 row of peas.
Nm156 what do you think on this one? . I have 2 more this color. The tail on this one has me thinking cockeral, but its comb is not red like the others
I look at the combs. They usually develop before the saddles and hackles.Post 19 looks like a pullet.
