New to the forum but have been raising chickens for 6 years, mostly Cornish X. I was wondering if anyone knew of poultry processing facilities in Illinois? I had been using Central Illinois Poultry Processing in Arthur, IL for a few years, but their prices have gone up considerably (now a $120 minimum) and their quality has been atrocious the past few years (25% of our birds missing a wing). If anyone knows of a processing service for 30-50 birds, I'd love to hear about it.

Cheers!

Butchering cornish cross is quite easy, by the third time I had ever done it, I could kill the bird, and within 15 minutes, the breasts, leg quarters and wings were all in freezer bags and in the freezer.
There are many YouTube videos showing how to do it.
Bury the remains under the compost pile and they will decay.
Look it up and give it a try. Much cheaper than paying someone else to do it.
