Not sure where you are, but in this heat my brown layers have hit the pause button. They stop laying within a day when the heat hits. The green layers are still going strong, but the brown (BRock and RIR) have stopped.

There are so many different reasons. June is the time older hens slow down from the big spring laying time, she could be just taking a rest, especially if they have been soft. It could be a mineral issue.

You might try to encourage laying again by giving them some oyster shells so that they have enough calcium to lay hard eggs. What are you feeding them? Is there something in their environment that has changed?

Sounds like they are just getting going. Production reds or hybrids? Their systems are telling them to lay, lay, lay, but they aren't quite ready. It'll come.
