Newbie checking in
Hi all. I had a fairly large chicken coop for numerous years. I had six hens, two rabbits and a pair of quail. Although I used heavy duty chicken wire to completely surround the coop, a few raccoons ate through the wire, and devoured my entire collection in one night, leaving only the combs and feet.
My daughter went out to feed the animals and the place was pure blood, and devastated her. That was the end of a fun project for me!
That was about 20 years ago and still hate those raccoons.

You are correct. Anyone who has tasted an egg from your own backyard will never want store bought eggs again.
