We had a broody Wyandot so we put 6 fertilized eggs underneath her. We have some that hatched today. I was planning on moving all of them and mama inside tomorrow so my other hens don't hurt the babies. Do you think they will all be hatched tomorrow? Is this a good idea? How do I know if she is a good mama?

It could take about 12 hours for all te eggs to hatch. I would leave them there until the same time the first started to hatch and then remove them. As far as her being a good mama can't answer that normally this breed is pretty reliable

We have a Hamburger at the moment living in the coop with her babies. She is a very good Momma. The others chickens don't mess with her or her babies. I think they are better with the Momma in the outside environment. She teaches them everything they need to know.

Wow!! Seriously! That is so cool!
I don't think the babies can get up the ladder into the coop. And my run is not secure...;( these babies are smaller than the neighborhood rats.... I guess I will wait a little while then.
