Hello, I have a huge love oak in my yard. In some areas of the tree, mistletoe has found a home. I just started to noticed that some of the mistletoe berries have fallen to the ground near the coop and am worried that this is something my hens should not be exposed to. Does anyone out there have any feedback about mistletoe and chickens?

There are hundreds of plants which are toxic to chickens, but normally they will know to avoid them. (unless they are really hungry)

Mistletoe is poisonous to PEOPLE and other 4 legged critters. Mistletoe is NOT poisonous to birds, and chickens are birds. The seeds are spread by birds when they eat them. The birds poop out the seeds in the trees and the seeds grow. How do you think the plants get started way up there in them trees? By the birds that eat the berries.
