I've never heard of any breeds that specifically lay more than 1 egg per day but some folks claim they have gotten 2 eggs in one day from a hen?!?! I've had chickens for a very long time and even used "trap nesting" for about a decade for an egg production project I was conducting and NEVER had a hen lay 2 eggs in the same day during that 10 year long project! However, my study was with one breed, Buckeyes.

I would not know if they did or not ... I get the eggs a few times a day and tell them, "Thanks"

As long as I get a good number of eggs per day and they all look good. (both, eggs & chickens ;)) That is what counts for me ...

I have never giving it a thought. (sorry)

well i had my 2 slikie hens in a small pen & in 1 day i got 3 eggs
there were only 2 hens in there & no way any others got in to lay that extra egg
i had just put them in there so there were no eggs from days earlier
don't shoot the messenger folks but i'm telling you straight here they CAN lay more than 1 egg in a day
if i hadn't seen it myself i wouldn't think it was true either

We have 3 Peking ducks. 1 male and 2 females. I too have gone to collect eggs and found 3 eggs and they are in a separate pen from our chickens and guineas.
