Butters is now 7 and a half weeks old and getting good sized wattles coming in.
I want you to be right, I really do, but butters is giving so many signs. Butters is just like his dad. His dad didn’t start crowing until he was 6 months give or take, so we probably won’t know for absolute certain until later.
The rest of the peeps are great. I’m keeping butters. Can’t give him up now. If him and his dad don’t get along I’ll just rehome one of them, but his dad is pretty friendly with the other birds so I have high hopes.
I'm sure you will. I hope since they've been together all this time they'll work things out and they can just stay together. Butters might challenge dad, if he does and they don't do a ton of damage to each other, let them work it out.
I will, they will need to learn to set boundaries with each other and I can’t get in the way of that. I will however be filing down/buffing their spurs so that if they do fight I won’t come home to dead or severely injured roosters.
sandy isn’t really a fighter and backs off pretty quickly, so I don’t think they will get in any bad fights.
