We just discovered one of our new orpingtons who we added Sunday night. She was sleeding, not heavy. And a large amount of her feathers was pulled from the back of her neck. She's actually larger than our other hens. Not sure who the culprit was, how many or why. I washed the area, segregated her, and put Nustock on the wound. Anything you can suggest or offer would be helpful.

Did you add her to the flock slowly or just put her in right away? It could be that your flock is not very welcoming to the new comer. I would keep her separated for now then reintroduce her. Maybe put her in a cage in the coop or pen so they can get to know her and not be able to pick at her.

We added both new Orps Sunday night while they slept, which we've done in the past. I can't figure why whomever waited 3 days to get her.
