Hello All,
I'm Bill from Trevor Wisconsin-thats miday between Chicago IL. and Milwaukee Wi.
I have been raising poultry and waterfowl for over 40 years.
I currently have about 135 Australorps; Lt. Brahmas; Black and White Giants; Buff and White Orpingtons; New Hampshire, Rhode Island Reds, Barred, White, Partridge, Buff Rocks;Delaware, Sussex, and some red and special black sex links. I raise them mostly for the brown eggs. All of my birds are pure breds. When they reach around 2 years of age they are processed and sold as stewing hens.
My girls are housed in a 28' travel trailer that was gutted and set up with perches and metal nesting boxes, they have an acre of fenced in land to free range during the day.I am currently getting between 115 and 120 eggs per day.I gather the eggs twice daily- washed packaged and put into refers. My eggs go for 2 bucks for large,2.50 extra large and 3.00 bucks for jumbos.
I also have a couple dozen Bronze turkeys along with ducks and geese.
I will forward some pictures of the girls shortly. I am looking forward to reading your posts.
