Just wanting to say Hi from Denmark and thanks to Austin for the invitation.

I've had chickens for more than 20 years, for the last 8 years black and blue Australorps. Some duck also hunting for snails in the yard.

I'm also one of the administrators for the danish poultry forum, Dansk Fjerkræ Forum, http://fjerkrae.dk/prod . This forum has been live since 1999 (before Facebook...). Denmark is a small country with only a population of 5.6 million and approximately 80-100.000 people keeping chickens, so the size of the forum with 5500 registered is a large part of that

Looking forward to hear more from you, wherever you are.

Welcome! Glad you joined.

Are Australorps popular there for being hearty for the Winters?

Well, the winters are not that hard here. Even though we are very much to the north (more than Edmonton.) The Gulf stream makes the winter warm but also wet.

Australorps are pretty popular, but the main hype right now is chickens with colored eggs, Marans with the dark brown and Araucana with the green are extremely wanted.

The heritage breeds is the danish countryfowl which is a small, hardy bird. Looking very much like the original jungle fowl. It's been around since the vikings discovered America.
