I'm relatively new to chicken farming - this is my 5th year. I started with 12 chicks and now have 65... plus 2 baby chicks who just hatched last week.

I have a range of breeds, mostly brown egg layers. 3 roos and the rest are hens.

I live on a large farm so my chickens all free range during the day and have a chicken house where they stay at night for safety.

I look forward to reading and learning!

I live in Indianapolis and I got 6 sex link chicks (3 red and 3 amber) for my birthday about 3 1/2 months ago. My coop consists of a couple of abandoned cages (I've joined them for a larger hen house), salvaged 2 X 4's and chicken wire. I plan to replace the chicken wire as with hardware cloth as I can afford it.

Well hello there!

I've gotten mine since Easter lol, yes I'm one of THOSE people. My flock now consists of 23 chickens and 3 ducks and about 8 different breeds lol.
My hubby built my coop and run. My coop is an 8x8 shed and the run, well, I'm not sure what it is since the addition. lol

One things for certain, I luvins my birds.
