You might remember that one-legged chick I posted about, Una. Guess what? Today Una and Geronimo turn one month old! And guess who is more likely to climb up on my shoulder and flap around in my hair? Hint: it's NOT the two-legged baby cockerel!

Geronimo is doing great, too. Finally got him to sit still for a picture.

Can't believe they were fluffballs just a month ago, I've raised SO many babies but it still astounds me how fast they grow. Well, there you go, in case anyone wondered: chickens born that way do not seem to notice being minus a leg.

So many times we put human responses on our animals when we should be studying their response to adversity and how well they handle it. Una could teach us a thing or two.

They do grow rapidly especially when you consider how long they can live.
