Hi guys I got a pekin bantam who has been jumping on pretty all of my hens iv never seen this in any eggs before he came, would you say this was a fertilised egg that could have went on to be a hatchling given the propper care? I’m positive this was from my coral nick hen.

You will probably see a few more of those.

Do you collect eggs frequently? Like every single day and sometimes multiple times? Since you have the roosters you could see a fertilized egg land in your pan with a partially developed chick. So, be careful.
Iv had three all in now, yeah I collect them everyday after work, and before I go usually only the one Mabey two early morning the rest come through the day when I’m away so I don’t know who is laying the double Yonkers or the small white eggs I’m getting.

You never answered me about whether you have another Silkie besides the cuckoo.

That egg does look too big for a Silkie.

What you might want to do if things get a little behind is either candle the eggs before storing them or break each egg in a bowl to make sure you don't end up ruining whatever you're making.

New job? So that means no more hanging around the house terrorizing you wife with birds at the windows and out there all day teaching the birds non bird like tricks?

Oh sorry I didn’t realise had t answered I only have the one silkie just now, we’ll two because one of the peeps is a silkie I think so, it has five toes, then I have the two Belgian bantams and little frizzle roo and I nearly forgot the little porcelain pekin bantam roo, that’s my collection of little chickens just now.

I don’t get behind I use them for making food when I’m at work and the boys give me a little money each day for thiers too so get through at least nine ten eggs a day my tray is down to around 15 which for me is low lol

yeah with the little baby on the the way more money is always useful but I still have an hour or two left to get out back for the birds and it’s getting more everyday with the days getting longer .
Another Silkie? So these eggs weren't yours?

You make food at work? I want to work there. No, I don't. I'm retired and I don't fly.

That shorter amount of time makes you appreciate the flock that much more. It will help you notice changes with anybody quicker since they can't slowly sneak a problem in.

Nope I only have the one silkie the cuckoo one.

always make food either at work or before I go sorry I thought I had reply’d, I came on to say that my bluebelle hen has become broody.
You're a working man. Soon to become a father again and somehow your flock keeps growing. I totally understand being silent for a bit.

That doesn't mean I don't notice when someone goes missing for a while.

I really don’t like to leave people waiting for a reply, especially here I get a really good chat and advice from you for that I must say thank you.

my black araucana rooster has strayed to crow now so hopfully down the line we’ll have some blue/olive layers, I have the leghorns for the blue and I have a pretty little copper black maran I think will produce really nice olive eggs, that’s the eventuality I’m hoping to achieve.

this is the wave that meets me every time I go into thier garden I say their as it now is thier garden loads of roosting spots and places to explore, I still don’t lock them all away most of my flock roost in the tree at the bottom of the garden but he odd one stays down on the ones I made, I know letting them range like this isn’t to everyone’s liking but the birds love it and iv managed to have 0 casualties to predators.

Good grief, how many did you have when you first visited here? Six? Your wife said enough but somehow they just keep ending up at your house.

When you live where predators are a problem you can be pretty paranoid about leaving them to their own devices. What are you winters like? If they can be harsh that is one time you're really going to want them up. They'll be susceptible to frost bite if its cold enough. Problem is, I don't think you have anything large enough to hold them all.
