    Hi everyone!

Our 9 hens have slowly began laying over the course of 3 to 4 weeks. It’s been very exciting going into the he coup every morning and finding 7 or 8 eggs every day now.

Every once in a while though we find an egg out in the run. It’s only happened about 3 or 4 times since they’ve started laying, they’re never hidden or in any kind of makeshift nest, just out in the open.

They currently only have two nesting boxes between the 9 of them, so do we need to add another or is this simply happening because they’re new to laying and haven’t quite figured it out?

Looking forward to your answers, thank you!

Since you're finding them out in the open it's because this whole laying thing is new.

Not saying whichever bird that is doing this won't be the one to hide in the future but right now she's still learning.

If there wasn't it would be too easy which would make keeping them boring.
