So do you have just the one rooster, the one you got yesterday?

Also do you have food and/or water in the nest box with her?

It is only IMO but having food and water in the nest can become a problem.

I've heard of more than a few stories about eggs broken in the nest because a hen wanting to help themself to the mother hens food/water and she wanting to protect her eggs.

Then again ... if the water/feed gets turned over it could also cause a few problems.

A mother hen is a very smart critter, she knows when she can come off her nest for her needs.

Again this is IMO and best of luck.

When my broody buff hatched her batch I just kept food and water close by, not in the box. She got out long enough to stretch her legs and eat and drink a bit but went right back in. Just my two bits )
