Chicken sneezing

149 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  gokoroo
My 2 chickens are sneezing continuously. They don't have any other signs of illness other than watery red/blackish droppings every now and then. They are active and eat their fill. Any idea what might be wrong with them?
p.s. I had a chick with the same condition that sneezed continuously for a month. She sadly passed away a few days ago. I think it was due to heat stroke though and not illness.

You need to get those droppings into the vet so they can check for parasites and blood.

You might even take the birds too. Something isn't right.

What is their environment like? Is it really dusty? Do you have anything that has a strong odor near them? Is their housing clean?

They are quarantined in a separate coop which is well ventilated and clean. They only started sneezing after the first chick (the one that died of heat stroke. He was the first one to start sneezing) escaped the quarantine coop and got in contact with the two birds that are currently sneezing.
If that bird came in contact with the others then it picked up something communicable. You need the vet. Being that you live in the UK there are lots of vets that will see chickens.

try using a lot of red pepper around the, where the chicken don't get in contact; it actually really help; it do not matter how clean you keep the coop; must of the thing that FLYES.
