I'm happy to be among other chicken fanatics here! I live in Colorado Springs with my retired husband and we currently have 9 hens. As we are in the city limits, we can only have 10 and no roo. We've had chickens for many years, in various places and climates. We even had a commercial operation for 4 years, before we could get away from it! That was a BIG mistake, but we learned a lot. Think 14,000 hens and 1,400 roosters. It was everything I hate about large-scale commercial agriculture Anyway, we are grandparents, retired, have a large garden on a 1/4 acre city lot and love our lives.
