- Good Breed to Start with?
What's a good first timers breed? I want to be able to produce eggs. I don't want to eat the chickens. I don't think I could do it.

Pros: Really good egg layers.
Recommended? YesMine have become very tame and friendly;I think they are perfect for people starting out with chickens. I'm getting a lot of VERY tasty eggs...thanks girls! :)
Pros: Excellent feed to chicken ratio. Excellent liveability. LARGE brown eggs. Great for beginners. A very docile bird and very friendly.
Cons: Can't think of any.
Recommended? YesI am raising 800 of these for my egg production flock and I can not say enough good things about this breed. Many commercial egg ranches raise these for egg production.
