• Coop is 8'x8' insulated and heated. Plans were to put it on a car axle and add a tongue to move about the acre. Never happened. It has an attached covered run. Have added a large insulated dog house adapted for chickens and a few breeding pens recently. The chickens free-range on our acre in Montana. I use lights to extend day for continued laying.
    I started two years ago with a diverse egg-laying flock. During the last 6 months, I have started SQ and breeding flocks of several types: French Copper Black Marans, Lemon Cuckoo Orpingtons, Seramas, bantam Mille Fleur and Frizzle Cochins, Naked Necks and working on a Blue Wheaten Ameraucana breeding set.
